Every once in a while, an athlete comes through our doors who leaves a lasting impression—not only because of what they accomplish, but because of the person they become along the way. For JDFit, Libbie Tacia is unquestionably one of those athletes.
Libbie has been part of the JDFit family since she was in middle school. Over the years, we have had the privilege of watching her grow from a young athlete into an accomplished, hardworking, and well-rounded young woman.
One quality that has always stood out about Libbie is her consistency. She continued showing up, putting in the work, and approaching her training with purpose—even while balancing the demands of school, dance, and everything else on her schedule. That kind of commitment cannot be taught through a single workout. It is developed over years of making good decisions, honoring commitments, and staying focused on long-term goals.
That same discipline has carried over into the classroom, where Libbie has maintained an outstanding 4.0 GPA. Being successful in both athletics and academics requires tremendous effort, organization, and maturity, and Libbie has demonstrated all three throughout her time with us.
Following graduation, Libbie will attend Michigan State University and join the MSU Elite Competitive Dance Team. The team competes in Division 1A Jazz and Pom at the NDA College Dance Team National Championship—an incredible opportunity that reflects the years of work Libbie has invested in developing her skills as a dancer and athlete.
While we are proud of everything Libbie has accomplished, what we appreciate most is the person behind those accomplishments. She is a genuinely fantastic young lady who has represented herself, her family, and the JDFit community extremely well. Her work ethic, positive attitude, and character have made coaching her a rewarding experience for all of us.
Seeing our longtime youth athletes graduate is always bittersweet. We are excited to watch Libbie begin this next chapter, but we are also sad to know that we will no longer see her training with us as regularly. After having her as part of our gym since middle school, her presence will certainly be missed.
Libbie, thank you for allowing JDFit to be part of your journey. We are incredibly proud of the athlete, student, and young woman you have become. Michigan State is gaining an outstanding representative, and we have no doubt that you will bring the same dedication and character to this next opportunity that you have shown throughout your years with us.
Congratulations, Libbie. Everyone at JDFit wishes you the very best at Michigan State and with the MSU Elite Dance Team. We cannot wait to see what you accomplish next.
Go Green!
